From movie to real life - China deploys this EV 8x8 anti-riot vehicle

It’s not often that anti-riot vehicles get the spotlight, but this Sanneng 8x8 is quite something.

After all, for those who watched the Prometheus movie back in 2012 would instantly recognize the Sanneng 8x8 instantly, as this Chinese anti-riot vehicle draws its inspiration from the RT-01 Transport.

Now, technical details surrounding this anti-riot vehicle are scarce, but according to the founder of CarNewsChina, he claimed that this 8x8 vehicle is in fact an electric vehicle (EV) and has electric motors powering the rear wheels.

Other details that the Twitter source shared is that the body panels are bullet-proof and there’s a camera mounted on the top. Seating capacity is 8.

The same source also mentioned that this Sanneng 8x8 is operated by the Wulan County Police Security Bureau, though other Chinese counties like Zhejiang has also received this anti-riot vehicle.
