Leading international automotive trade fair Automechanika Kuala Lumpur 2023 (AMKL 23)has returned with a bang this year, kicking off proceedings at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) from today to Sunday, 18th March 2023.
Let's take a closer look at some of the sights and sounds of Automechanika Kuala Lumpur 2023.
AMKL 23 hosted quite a number of companies supplying tooling and workshop automation systems. These systems range from basic tyre mounting machines to high-tech jigs and body alignment systems used for collision repair.
As vehicles become more electrified and run vastly more complex computer systems, vehicle diagnostics and scan tools have become a must-have for for workshops and the aftermarket service industry.
In addition to its diagnostics tools, Launch Tech also showcased its specialised ADAS calibration system.
Renowned tooling supplier Milwaukee exhibited its latest range of tools for the ASEAN automotive sector.
A vast majority of exhibitors are involved in the light and heavy commercial industries. Companies ranging from large OE parts and components suppliers to producers of constituent child components such as bearings, electronics sensors to even batteries.
One such supplier is Euro-Technik which in addition to supplying commercial vehicle parts, also sells brand-new and refurbished OE components such as turbochargers for popular passenger vehicles.
According to Euro-Technic, their turbochargers offer similar quality to original components but cost between 30 - 50 percent cheaper.
Brembo brake supplier Emerald Auto showcased its latest range of original equipment and aftermarket brake systems.
Did you know Hitachi also made brake rotors for cars? Well, neither did we to be honest.
Not just mechanical parts and systems, AMKL 23 also featured some aftermarket replacement hybrid battery suppliers.
There was no shortage of representation from exhibitors in the accessories and modification sectors. A substantial number of exhibitors showcased customised LED lighting accessories catered to various popular models.
Perhaps one of the more interesting exhibits was GBT, which sells complete turnkey body kits that can upgrade an older model to a newer one. Their body kits largely cater for popular luxury models from Toyota and Mercedes-Benz.
Towards the end of the main exhibition, in Hall 5 sat some really cool modified cars ranging from the likes of Lamborghini, McLaren, Porsche and a gaggle of Nissan GTRs.
Hall 7C housed exhibitors involved in the IR 4.0, robotics and manufacturing sectors.
Last but not least was the EMMA Malaysia Final car audio competition which will crown the best professionally built sound system. AMKL 23 will showcase about 70 modified vehicles in both Hall 5 and 7C.
