The all-new 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander has been spied doing its development rounds. The new Outlander will be based on a new plaform shared with Renault and Nissan, and will feature hybrid powertrains. The next-generation model, which is heavily camouflaged, gives us a clearer look at its exterior design.

At the front, the new Outlander adopts a unique front-lighting arrangement. At the top sits the LED daytime running lights and turn indicators, and lower down are the main headlamp units. This front lighting design is lifted straight from the Mitsubishi Engelberg concept.

There's not much that can be said of the side profile of this car. But, judging from the proportions, it will most likely continue having a 7-seater layout. 

Moving to the rear end, the new spyshots from Creative Trend has revealed how the taillamps look like. Shades of the 2nd-gen Toyota Fortuner, but again, consistent with the Mitsubishi Engelberg concept. 

Mitsubishi has already stated that the all-new Outlander will make its global debut in the 2nd half of 2020. Well, with the Covid-19 pandemic wreaking havoc on the timelines of the automotive industry, let's hope we get to see the 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander make its debut soon.
