BMW Malaysia has just released a teaser video of the all-new 2020 BMW M135i on its Facebook page. This would suggest the imminent arrival of the F40 BMW 1 Series in Malaysian shores.
The BMW M135i will arrive tomorrow, you said?
Yes. The video is captioned "What happens when joy gets a boost? One thing’s for sure - it’s bound to exceed your expectations. Find out on 24 July.β£"
Remind me of the all-new BMW 1 Series again
Unveiled in 2019, the F40 BMW 1 Series made the controversial switch to a front-wheel drive architecture as opposed to rear-wheel drive in the previous generation F20 1 Series.
Purists and enthusiasts were not pleased. But BMW promises a way more spacious interior, less weight, and improved body rigidity.
The BMW M135i is the range topper for now, perhaps an M140i or M1 (1M?) will arrive at some point in future.
It's powered by the 2.0-litre B48 engine that makes 306 PS and 450 Nm of torque. Transmission duty is handled by an 8-speed automatic, sending power to all four wheels through the xDrive system.
How much is it?
Well, we'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out. Watch this space.
The quest for automotive knowledge began as soon as the earliest memories. Various sources information, even questionable ones, have been explored including video games, television, magazines, or even internet forums. Still stuck in that rabbit hole.
