The Toyota Yaris Ativ (Vios for Malaysia) continues its dominant sales streak in Thailand, once again topping the monthly sales chart for April 2023 according to data gathered by Autolife.
Toyota's plucky-but-recently-controversial sedan ended the month with 2,867 units sold versus the Honda City's 1,229 cars moved. The numbers have dropped slightly since the January-March averages of 5,000-plus units monthly, but still good enough to maintain a clear lead over Honda.
These numbers mean that Toyota Motor Thailand has sold 21,109 units of the Yaris Ativ in the first four months of 2023 β nearly 3 times that of the Honda City's 7,296 cars. This strong showing means the Yaris Ativ continues to controls a whopping 59.1% of the segment's share there.
Elsewhere in the table the Nissan Almera keeps its third place with 427 cars sold in April (2,165 YTD), which is slightly lesser than the months prior, but that slowdown could also be linked to the brand's preparation of a facelift model that was launched earlier this month.
Rounding up the list is the MG 5 (396 units in April, 2,117 YTD), Mazda 2 Sedan (293 units in April, 1,533 YTD), the Mitsubishi Attrage (293 units in April, 1,137 YTD), and the Suzuki Ciaz (50 cars in April, 199 YTD).
