BMW Malaysia has announced the updated 2024 BMW i5 eDrive40 M Sport, with minor revision to its features and pricing.
Starting with the latter, which has increased by RM 300, now priced at RM 420,100 (OTR without insurance, with the extended warranty and maintenance package).
One of the key changes is an upgraded three-phase AC onboard charger, doubling its charging speed at 22 kW. DC charging remains at 205 kW, replenishing 80% of its 83.9 kWh battery in 34 minutes.
As before, powering the BMW i5 eDrive40 is a rear-mounted electric motor that produces 340 PS and 430 Nm, accelerating the car from 0-100 km/h in 6.0 seconds, with a WLTP-rated range of up to 582 km.

However, certain features have been removed to maintain a similar price point. For starters, the 21-inch BMW Individual Style 954M wheels have been replaced with smaller 20-inch Style 939M wheels. The panoramic glass roof, ventilated seats, and crystal controls, are no longer included.
Other exterior features remain unchanged, including the M Sport package, adaptive LED headlights, Iconic Glow illuminated grille, and adaptive suspension.
Inside, goodies like the head-up display, four-zone climate control, rear sunshades, wireless charger, and the 18-speaker 655-watt Bowers & Wilkins sound system continue to be offered.
The 2024 BMW i5 also continues to offer the Driving Assistance Professional package, which includes features like Distance Control with Stop and Go, Steering and Lane Control Assistant, Speed Limit Assist, and advanced navigation guidance.
