One of the bigger highlights of the 2024 Santa Fe is that it is based on an all-new platform. The third-gen platform is called N3 (replacing the Y7). Elsewhere, all variants receive MacPherson struts up front and a multi-link suspension setup at the back.
For added versatility, both variants are equipped with Hyundaiโs innovative Terrain Mode selector. This feature allows drivers to optimize the Santa Feโs performance across different driving conditions, such as sand, snow, or mud. Additionally, the Diesel Max variant comes with HTRAC All-Wheel-Drive, enhancing traction on tougher terrains.
On the outside, the most noticeable change on the 2024 Santa Fe is the revamped front end, featuring fanged lighting running along the sides and a redesigned, full-width grille. The Santa Fe Hybrid Max has 19-inch wheels, the Diesel Max gets 20-inch, and the Hybrid Plus comes with 17-inch wheels.
The rear of the vehicle has also been refreshed, with a sleek illuminated bar connecting the taillights, further accentuating the Santa Feโs width.
Inside, the Santa Fe receives significant updates, starting with a new high-raised centre console. This design tweak provides an armchair-like seating position for the driver and front passenger. The switch to a shift-by-wire system has also introduced more buttons, including those for the gear selector.
The Santa Fe features a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with pre-loaded maps and satellite-based navigation. Meanwhile, there is a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster that allows for customisation of driving information. The SUV also comes with dual-zone climate control and a powered rear tailgate for added convenience.
All variants of the 2024 Santa Fe will feature the SmartSense ADAS suite, which includes the following features amongst others:
Smart Cruise Control (SCC)
Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA)
Lane Keeping Assist (LKA)
Lane Following Assist (LFA)
Driver Attention Warning (DAW)
Leading Vehicle Departure Alert (LVDA)
Higher variants, like the Hybrid Max and Diesel Max, come equipped with a Blind Spot View Monitor and Surround View Monitor.
The 2024 Santa Fe is available in four colours: Phantom Black, Creamy White Pearl, Magnetic Grey, and Stormy Sea. The 2024 Santa Fe is offered with a standard 5-year / 300,000 km manufacturer warranty.
Jeffrey Gan, Managing Director, Southeast Asia, Sime Darby Motors adds, "The Santa Fe has long been a cornerstone of Hyundai's SUV line-up, consistently meeting the needs of Malaysian families. With its bold design, advanced technology and choice of powertrains, the Santa Fe continues to impress those seeking a versatile and premium driving experience."
Arvind can't remember a time when he didn't wheel around a HotWheels car. This love evolved into an interest in Tamiya and RC cars and finally the real deal 1:1 scale stuff. Passion finally lead to formal training in Mechanical Engineering. Instead of the bigger picture, he obsesses with the final drive ratio and spring rates of cars and spends the weekends wondering why a Perodua Myvi is so fast.
