@yelyahwilliams i really love mazda cars...
@KzoorayRay @ElTrumpo Also, may be wrong, it was a Remington? I thought Bushmaster, which means Colt. Either way, like we all say, Ford is now responsible for all DWI accidents in any FMC product (Jag, Mazda, etc....), and Chevy/Doge/Toyota for their competing advertisements....no end to this!!!

MAZDAのFMC予想図って 何故か納得しやすい
@CARandDRIVER @Ford @VW I thought Ford worked with Mazda? Half of Mazda parts say FMC on them.
MAZDAのアクセラFMCすんの?
Unfortunately, garages and auto repair services are retro-active, rather than pro-active. I worked for several years as a corporate trainer for FMC, at that time a large maker of alignment, tire, and balancing equipment. We were always trying to peer into the future for what MIGHT be needed (at that time, Mazda was coming out with 4-wheel steering, which was a nightmare to align/repair properly). Today's (and tomorrow's) repair facilities are going to need to understand communication protocols between vehicles (there are some 80 of them), as well as understanding counter-hack protocols (right now, the electronic brake systems are vulnerable to an outside hack). As we increase the tech ON the car, we will need more tech IN the garage to diagnose, repair, replace that tech with safety.
Too many people are still enamored by the “magic” of flying machine. They all act cool and smug, because they use Tesla cars with the so-called “autopilot”, use the latest Apple or Google gadgets, and get their goods / services featured in “serious” channel media like Bloomberg or Financial Times. Yet, flying escapes their logic. Simple, because it is just too difficult to understand, like Quantum physics to anyone with high school student physics level of understanding like me. It is a scientific nonsense for anyone who doesn’t understand, and something cool for those who pretend to understand. During my active years in flight sim communities, real aviation communities, I’ve seen a lot of many different people. From the casual ones: To hard core ones. One is curious, and the other one is clearly serious. But why take your hobby seriously though? Why waste so many times learning pages of procedures, systems, mechanics, and science behind all of these, while you still have exams, papers, homeworks, professional certifications, and many other “real world” needs? Why be a “desktop pilot” though? Well, it is sort of self-fulfilling, self-satisfying sense of accomplishment. It took a lot of effort to fly a passenger jet in simulator too. Start the battery, switch the fuel pumps on, start the APU, switch on the electrics and AC systems including appropriate cabin and external lights, perform the tests, align the IRS, program the FMC, get ready for engine start, turn on rotating beacon lights, turn of AC, turn or pull the engine start switch, wait until the N2 dials show the correct rpm percentage, switch the fuel flow valve on, repeat for the next engine, switch electricity generator to engine, reroute bleed air to engine, switch off APU, turn hydraulics power on, test the controls, prepare for taxi, switch taxi lights on, extend flaps to take off configuration, adjust elevator trim, set autobrake to maximum or Rejected Take Off, roll towards runway, switch TCAS on, turn off taxi lights, switch on strobe lights and landing lights, enter the runway, align the plane, power up, and when the engine responded accordingly, go for take off/go around thrust, wait for rotate velocity, pull the control, airborne, wait for positive climb rate, move the landing gear lever up. That’s take off. There is a sense of self-satisfaction of successfully making it without a glitch, including the communications with ground control and tower. Yet, despite having repeated this too many times, so many people are mystified with the real life take off process. Not even films and other depictions of airplane operating procedures are close, only a few did. But that’s not all. There is after take off/pre-climb checklist, during climb, at cruising altitude, step climb to higher cruising altitude, diversion, before descent checklist, during descent, approach procedure, on final approach checklist, post-landing, before shutdown, after shutdown. And each aircraft has its own unique quirks and procedures. It is fascinating to bring this bird alive, almost like successfully turning on a mecha and make it move about and do fascinating things with it, like moonwalking for instance. All while some people are still out there, spectating about planes, making wild speculations during major aviation accidents, commenting on real pilot’s behaviour or professionalism, talk about aviation safety as if they ever practiced it, and many other occurences that simply make you smug, despite not being one of the practitioners or actors, nor one of the spectators. You know, it is like people who took things for granted vs those who know what’s what. A wine connoisseur will certainly enjoy good wines more than those casual drinkers who just don’t understand good wines. A cook will appreciate good food more than ordinary “foodie” that don’t cook. A car guy will appreciate Mazda MX-5 Miata more than normies who simply couldn’t be bothered. They all know which part is special, and why or how it is special. Basically this comic right here: xkcd: Connoisseur Our seriousness in going deep into this geekdom sometimes caught the attention of real practitioners too. Real pilots usually take photos of obscure planes they saw and send it to us for identification. Real flight attendants asked us about weird questions about their planes that they are too afraid to ask the pilots or the mechanics. We play by their rules, that sometimes get a bit too fanboyish. But generally, we are just one less potential trouble in mid-air for the crews. At least, we have real impact, and that’s rewarding enough. For me personally, my hobby cures my fear of flying. Any changes in airplane noise, any sudden mild turbulence jerk will easily unnerve me and made me grab that armrest tightly. Now, it is no more.

My feeling is that Acura, for proprietary reasons, isn't releasing much more than promo literature/videos, like this one, on the newer version of its "all wheel" steering (which, of course, it isn't...the rear wheels are only nudged, up to 2 1/2 inches, to compensate for wheel drift in curves and turns): When I worked for FMC, where we made alignment equipment, we had a pre-production model of the old mechanical system on the early Mazda MX-6. It, too, relegated a mere max of 5 degrees of movement, and was worrisome from many points of view. It had a "fail-safe", whereby any error in the system caused a lock-out of the rear steer capabilities; as a company making alignment equipment, we worried about liability if any ONE of the four available angles would/could be set slightly off, and with what consequence? In the end, it proved more trouble than it was worth (for, Mazda,), and they wisely, IMO, dropped the program. At the lower speeds driven by the average motorist, there was no appreciable gain-for-cost ratio, of the driving experience. My concern now is its use in fully independent rear suspensions, where each wheel is electronically controlled...one hiccup fro anywhere in the system, and it is a collision looking for an opportunity.
Henri, IMO no not yet! First of all, all North American car manufacturers (not that many left) are having a SCREAMING hard time selling cars, when the general public wants big gas guzzling pickups and SUVs. Gas prices are on the side of the consumer (who wants a small box with anemic performances). Secondly, slowly some of the buying/leasing/driving population are turning ELECTRIC, either pure or hybrid again not the forte of FMC and GM. It doesn’t help to see the success of TESLA. Thirdly, Ford (in the infinite wisdom) have done some dozy purchases which not only did NOT pan out, they had to give these suckers away at rock bottom prices. Think Jaguar, Volvo, Mazda, these have cost a great part of their capital base in purchase, needed again massive financial support to turn the bleeders around and then had to sell these at 25% of their purchase price. Now the GURUS in the IVORY towers have decided that the profit margins on cars were not sufficient enough (thinks these Japanese are stupid or. . . ?) so they are slowly cutting the auto production and will only concentrate on pickups & SUVs. Will it work? I hope so but they have about 10–15 years max left to produce ICE vehicles before they are either a dinosaur or have an electric bunch of vehicles to survive the next 25–30 years. Using the charts, the equity price better hurry up and rise above $9.25 in the next few months, or you might get another chance to buy their equity around $3 again.
