Making its global unveiling in Thailand back in July 2023, the all-new 2024 Mitsubishi Triton will be launched in a few markets next year including Malaysia as well as a return to the Japanese domestic market.
Over in Southeast Asia, the Philippines seems to be the second destination of the all-new Triton after Thailand with Mitsubishi Motors Philippines announcing bookings are opened. However, it appears that the all-new Triton has also made its way into Indonesia based on a recent Instagram post.
Posted by @sbfcikarang, a silver unit of the all-new Triton was spotted with a window tint promotion in Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java. The location of the window tint specialist seems to provide a bit of a clue on the Triton’s Indonesian situation.
Mitsubishi Motors’ Indonesian subsidiary, PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI) has a plant located in Bekasi that assembles the Xpander and the Xforce. Perhaps this Triton which is also bearing white-coloured trade plates is used by MMKSI for internal evaluation.
Speaking to our sister publication, AutoFun ID, MMKSI President Director, Atsushi Kurita, could not divulge further on the all-new Triton that was spotted in the archipelago. “We’ll just have to wait for that and will let you know when it arrives,” he told AutoFun ID.
Besides, sales of the outgoing Triton and L300 pick-up trucks are still stable in Indonesia. The Triton was at one point the country’s best-selling pick-up truck but recently, it seems to have relinquished the title to the Toyota Hilux.
