It has been discovered that many were trying to leave Selangor without valid reason during the first day of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO). From the second day of CMCO onwards, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) will be setting up blocks mainly at toll plazas and state borders.
The new strategy was announced by Selangor Police Chief, Comm Datuk Noor Azam Jamaludin, at the handover of the Ampang Jaya OCPD post earlier today (15/10/2020).
Comm Noor Azam confirmed that the move was necessary to prevent non-essential travelling for residents of Selangor or travellers who did not obtain permission from PDRM.
During the first day of CMCO, 3 people were arrested while PDRM issued 118 compounds for violating the CMCO guidelines on Wednesday (14/10/2020).
The Selangor Police Chief also acknowledges that the roadblocks set up during CMCO have caused heavy road congestions. He pleads to the public to remain patient as the ultimate aim is to stop the spread of Covid-19.
