While the old Peugeot 408 was an understated yet handsome sedan that few appreciated, the new generation model, well, is none of that. Instead, the all-new Peugeot 408 is now a fastback crossover, and a very eye-catching one at that.

At the ongoing 2023 Bangkok International Motor Show, Peugeot showcased the brand-new 408, albeit in left-hand drive format. Thus far, this fancy Peugeot 408 has found its way to Singapore, with Thailand set to be next.

Despite being an LHD car, Peugeot Thailand has revealed that the 408 PHEV will go on sale soon, priced at THB 2,790,000 (~RM 361k).

For Thailand, Peugeot will be offering the 408 with its plug-in hybrid (PHEV) system that features a turbocharged 1.6-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine mated to an electric motor that does a combined system output of 225 PS and 360 Nm.

Power is routed to the front wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Thanks to the 12.4 kWh battery pack, the 408 PHEV can do a pure electric range of up to 63 km, measured under the WLTP cycle.
