The Ford Ranger will soon square off a new rival in the form of the 2023 Peugeot Landtrek, a brand-new pick-up truck by newly-appointed Peugeot distributor Bermaz Auto Alliance Sdn Bhd (BAASB).
The Peugeot Landtrek is BAASB’s fourth Peugeot model to be offered here, after the Peugeot 2008, Peugeot 3008, and Peugeot 5008. The model is fully imported (CBU) from China.
Two variants will be offered when the Landtrek is launched later this month, with prices estimated to start from the RM 123k mark.
Power for the Malaysian-spec Landtrek comes from a turbodiesel 1.9-litre 4-cylinder engine that outputs 152 PS and 350 Nm, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, driving all four wheels.
Detailed specifications were not revealed during the preview. Between the two Landtreks that were previewed that day, the only difference we could tell are the presense of the bed lining on the green unit; the grey unit's trunk bed is bare metal.
Regardless, the Peugeot Landtrek is generously-equipped, with both variants offering features such as LED headlights with LED daytime running lights, LED tail lights, 18-inch alloy wheels, and roof rails. Both Landtrek variants also offer a 12V power socket in the trunk bed.

Both variants of the Landtrek also feature a massive 10-inch infotainment display with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, leather steering wheel, as well as a digital and analogue combination instrument cluster.
Leather upholstery, power-adjustable driver seat, automatic dual-zone air-conditioning and rear air-conditioning vents are standard fitment.
In terms of safety, 6 airbags come as standard. There’s no ADAS features, but Peugeot does offer Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and Lane Keeping Alert (LKA). A 360-degree camera is also standard fitment for both Landtrek variants that were previewed that day.
