As we draw closer to the debut of the D27A all-new 2022 Perodua Alza, more details surrounding the new MPV have begun to emerge.
Now, according to an internal circular that was sent to various Perodua dealers, bookings for the new MPV will open on 23-June, which is next Thursday.
In addition to that, the on-the-road (OTR) prices will be announced and order taking will commence on the very same day.
As reported earlier, due to the global shortage of automotive parts and an increase in cost of raw materials and logistics, prices of several new cars have crept up. The all-new D27A is expected to see a similar upward movement in prices as well. We expect an increase in price of between 7 to 10 percent for the D27A Alza, with prices possibly range from around RM 60k - RM 70k, before factoring in SST.
Although the circular did mention “model name unveiling” as part of the agenda for 23-June, we don’t know for sure if Perodua will give the MPV a new name. Model name unveiling does not necessarily mean that the MPV will get a new name, but it's more likely than not. Earlier, Perodua trademarked Nexis and Traz, could those be potential names for the new MPV?
As a brief recap, the D27A Perodua Alza is an upcoming B-segment SUV that shares most of its components with the new generation Toyota Avanza / Toyota Veloz / Daihatsu Xenia.
Power is expected to be derived from a naturally-aspirated 1.5-litre engine that pushes out 106 PS and 137 Nm, mated to a Dual-mode CVT (D-CVT), akin to the Ativa and Myvi.
As with other modern-day Perodua model, safety features will be generous, as the Perodua Smart Drive Assist (PSDA) ADAS suite can be expected on most variants of the D27A Alza. 6 airbags are also a given.
