BMW Malaysia starts the new year rolling with the introduction of the new 2020 BMW X1 facelift. As before, the updated BMW X1 range is only available in one variant, but this time it's the front-wheel drive X1 sDrive20i M Sport. The updated SAV is locally assembled in Kulim and goes at a price of RM 233,800.
Cosmetically, the new X1 comes with minor changes to the front and rear bumpers, with the M Sport items now featuring larger air intakes, plus larger tailpipes respectively.

BMW has even updated all exterior lightings around the car to now feature updated LED headlamps with new light patterns and fog lamps integrated into the front bumper. The tail lamps also received an update that now features the familiar L motif design.
The exterior also comes with M Sport trimmings from the M Aerodynamic package, complimented with 18-inch M Light double-spoke wheels.
Under the metal, BMW has swap out the standard suspensions in favour for M Sport suspensions causing the car to measure in at 1588 mm in height, 10 mm shorter than the previous version’s 1599 mm.
Inside the cabin, the X1 sports new aluminium trimmings paired with M Sport garnishes like the M leather steering wheel and M designation door sills.
The highlight inside is the presence of the new 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that replaces the old 6.5-inch display. The screen is the one-stop control to all technologies, like the in-car navigation, in the X1.
As like the outgoing model, BMW ConnectedDrive services are still available for the car.
Mechanically, the X1 still runs on the same 2.0-litre TwinTurbo engine mated to a 7-speed Steptronic transmission. The car still produces 192 PS and 280 Nm and has the ability to sprint to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds and to a top speed of 224 km/h.
