When Toyota launched the facelifted Camry for the American market back in June, we predicted that the facelift model could be launched in Thailand in mid- or late-2021. As such, the Malaysian launch would begin shortly after as the Malaysian-spec Camry is imported from Thailand. As it'll be a facelift exercise, it's fair to expect that exterior changes won't be very extensive, bar a slightly redesigned front fascia. Meanwhile in the interior - if the US-spec Camry is any indication - could see a new floating-style touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. Performance wise, it's most likely retaining the 2.5-litre 2AR engine (184 PS/235 Nm) mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Meanwhile, we expect the facelifted Camry to receive an updated suite of Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) ADAS suite that features Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) with Stop & Go as featured in the Corolla Altis. In Malaysia, the current Camry is priced from RM 188,763. Competitors include the Honda Accord and Mazda 6.

In a shrinking market of D-segment sedans, the 2019 Toyota Camry represents an alternative to the trendy SUV for those who enjoy driving. Underpinned by the TNGA platform, it handles superbly whilst maintaining the comfort that the Camry has always been known for.
As a fully imported model from Thailand, the sole variant is priced at RM 196,888, which is thereabouts of the Honda Accord and Volkswagen Passat.
