An electric Honda HR-V in all but name, the Japanese carmaker has unveiled the e:Ny1 in Offenbach, Germany earlier this week. It's the brand's second pure electric vehicle (EV) after the Honda E.
The battery-electric vehicle looks almost exactly like the HR-V, save for a few cues that showcase its electric ambitions: white 'H' badges and a new typeface that spells out 'H o n d a ' on the tailgate; touches that will also appear in future Honda EVs.

Built on the company's newly-developed e:N Architecture F, which is a front-wheel drive platform that promotes a high-rigidity (high-tensile steel makes up 47% of the body) structure, low centre of gravity, and smoother under-floor aerodynamics for better efficiency.
Speaking of which, the e:Ny1's platform incorporates a high-performance, lightweight powertrain, generating a maximum output of 203 PS and 310 Nm of torque, juiced by a 68.8 kWh lithium-ion (Li-Ion) battery to offer a 412 km WLTP-rated range. DC fast charging capability, though wattage hasn't been specified, can charge the battery from 10% to 80% in just 45 minutes.
A similar model is sold in China as the e:NS1.

Space on the inside should mirror what's in the regular HR-V, but there's a few changes. First of all it gets an all-new centre console with a simpler layout, plus more storage options, and the inclusion of wireless charging. The dashboard remains familiar - but this time crowned by a 15.1-inch touchscreen up top.
At point of publication, no definite launch timelines nor prices were given at point of publication.
